Job summary

Akkar, a defense and aerospace manufacturer in Longmont, is seeking a senior CNC Programmer/Machinist to design and machine high-precision components. You will own parts from Mastercam programming through finished verification, and mentor nearby machinists.

This hands-on role requires 3+ years of machining and Mastercam experience, a strong grasp of GD&T, and a proven ability to hold tight tolerances on complex parts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of machining experience in production settings.
• 3+ years programming CNC machines in Mastercam.
• 3+ years applying GD&T in production.
• Record of holding tight tolerances on complex parts.
• Strong blueprint reading and math skills.
• Clear communication and ability to teach others.
• High school diploma or equivalent; machining certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines in Mastercam from blueprints and documents.
• Machine complex components to tight tolerances.
• Run first-off parts and adjust as needed.
• Read blueprints and apply GD&T.
• Check dimensions with hand tools and measurement equipment.
• Support quality assurance and safety standards.
• Train and mentor manufacturing team.
• Lead troubleshooting and contribute to continuous improvement.
