Job summary

Cincinnati Incorporated is seeking a dedicated CNC Programmer with 7+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining. The ideal candidate will expertly draft and edit Fanuc M & G codes, work closely with operators, quality control, and engineers to resolve toolholding, surface finish, and tolerance issues, and drive process improvements across manufacturing.

Proficiency in Solid Edge and Mastercam 2022 and familiarity with Mazatrol and MazaCAM are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, including GD&T tolerancing; develop or modify operation sequences from sketches, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Proficiency with Solid Edge and Mastercam 2022 to program two-axis lathes with live tooling and 3+2-axis machining centers.
  • Understanding of tool wear, cutter compensation, and leading tooling technology.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt CNC mills & lathes for low-volume, short lead-time and high-volume production work.
  • Assess bottlenecks and reoptimize parts on alternative machines to ensure tomorrow’s part completion.
  • Interpret and edit Fanuc M and G codes; reduce setup times through process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to resolve machining limitations and apply DFM concepts to reduce costs and cycle times.
  • Work with machine operators on first-run programs to ensure quality and optimal cycle times.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to peers and ensure timely completion of assignments.

Position Summary & Purpose:

We're looking for a dedicated, self-motivated employee with 7+ years of CNC Programming & Machining experience. The right candidate should be well versed in cutter technologies used in machining and turning and have a strong understanding of Fanuc M & G codes. You should be knowledgeable in a broad range of manufacturing processes from raw materials to finished parts. You will work closely with Machine Operators, Quality Control personnel, and Engineers to solve any issues from work holding, cutter application, surface finish to dimensional tolerances.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Adaptively/Dynamically Program CNC Mills & Lathes for low volume short lead time (expedited, etc.) and high volume production work.
  • Ex. A part we normally produce using CNC Milling Machine A, which uses a dedicated fixture and tooling is a bottle neck due to Machine A being down. We need you to review the part, figure out what alternative machine is best suited for a quick turnaround, and completely reprocess and program the part to run at that alternative machine so we have a finished part tomorrow.
  • Understand, interpret, and edit Fanuc M & G codes.
  • To reduce setup time and machining through process improvements.
  • Use existing process routers utilizing new machining practices and methods.
  • Work with Engineering departments to resolve any limitations on machining of parts and offer design suggestions to reduce costs and cycle time. Apply DFM (Design For Manufacturing) logic.
  • Work with machine operators on first run programs to ensure quality of program and optimal cycle times.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to peers.
  • Willing and able to see an assignment through in a timely manner, recognizing the needs of others, production, and CINCINNATI’s customers.
Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical Engineering Drawings, including GD&T Tolerancing. Develops, edits, or modifies operation sequences based on manufacturing sketches, blueprints, or schematics. Both digital and board drawing formats.
  • Use Solid Edge and Mastercam 2022 (or near version) software to program two axis lathes with live tooling, vertical and horizontal machining centers up to 3+2-axis.
  • Thoroughly understands tool wear, cutter compensation, and under industry leading tooling technology.
Helpful Experience:
  • University Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent.
  • Mazatrol & MazaCAM programming and operation.

This position is very active and requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing of ladders. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
