Job summary

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, seeks a Maintenance Technician IV to support and maintain the advanced facilities used for fabricating, assembling, and testing flight hardware.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair CNC/EDM equipment, manage parts, and ensure compliance with safety standards while coordinating with vendors and program offices. This is a high-responsibility, on-site position at JPL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience; or associate/bachelor with relevant experience and technical training.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in CNC machining centers, EDM, and CNC fabrication machinery.
• Experience developing, executing, and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules and logbooks.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular functional checks and preventive maintenance on CNC and non-CNC equipment following PM plans.
• Diagnose and repair equipment issues, coordinate with outside vendors for parts and repairs.
• Inspect and replenish oils, fluids, filters, and coolant concentrations.
• Manage chemical inventories using Chemwatch and FLASH system.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, LOTO, waste disposal, and safety records.
• Collaborate with supervisor/leads to support PM requirements and documentation.
• Work independently from technical diagrams and prints to perform repairs.
• Identify new vendor resources and coordinate major repairs with acquisitions.
• Align with OSPO and EAPO to meet mandated requirements.
• Proactively identify equipment issues and update PM strategies.
• Support relocations, crane/forklift operations, and utility system maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
