Job summary

Torch Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced CNC Mill-Turn Machinist/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will work with engineering drawings and CAD models to program, set up, prove out, and machine complex precision parts using modern CNC equipment.

As a CNC Mill-Turn Machinist/Programmer, you will program, set up, and operate DMG Mori Mill-Turn centers, program with Mastercam, develop machining strategies, and machine prototype/low-volume parts.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Associate degree or 2 years of formal technical training or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years CAM programming experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Ability to read drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Ability to independently program, set up, and prove out CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate DMG Mori Mill-Turn machining centers.
• Program with Mastercam.
• Develop machining strategies, tooling, workholding, feeds, and speeds.
• Machine complex prototype and low-volume parts.
• Troubleshoot programs, setups, tooling, and machining processes.
• Work independently from drawing/model through finished part.
