Job summary

A growing, family-owned precision machining manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to support new and existing projects in Morganton, NC. The role requires hands-on CNC programming, setup, tooling, and process development skills.

Responsibilities include developing CNC programs, optimizing milling and turning processes, mentoring machinists, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems. Overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of hands-on CNC programming and setup experience.
• Strong proficiency in CAM programming using Mastercam or Fusion 360.
• Experience with 3-axis milling, 5-axis milling, or CNC turning.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, and machining methods.
• Ability to develop programs and manufacturing processes independently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• able to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam or Fusion 360.
• Establish efficient machining methods, setups, and tooling strategies.
• Support operations for 3-axis/5-axis mills and CNC lathes based on equipment experience.
• Manage new and existing projects, identifying productivity and quality improvements.
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, tooling, and machining issues.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Mentor machinists to strengthen CNC skills.
• Work within ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality requirements.
