Qualifications

• At least five years of experience operating CNC machines.
• Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC interfaces, in particular Fanuc controllers.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Values precision and enforces quality standards.
• Ability to understand G-code.
• Strong programming, problem solving, analytical, mathematical, mechanical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of geometry and basic Trig.
• Knowledge of setting up and running a cell environment.
• Leadership and organizational skills to meet daily demands for workflow.
• Strong working knowledge of tool offsets, speeds, and feeds for cutting various materials.
• Estimate time and materials for machine jobs, strong time management skills.
• At least three years of lathe-related experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Create product blueprints and drawings with GD&T specs.
• Design jigs, fixtures and templates to aid production.
• Write and edit CNC programs manually.
• Use CAM software to program new jobs.
• Maintain tight tolerances within .0005.
• Assist Engineering on first runs and prototypes.
• Plan machine operations and production goals.
• Perform QA on first part and during runs.
• Detect defects and report issues to management.
• Prevent mistakes and improve processes.
• Monitor machines to prevent malfunctions.
• Coordinate with Procurement for supplies and logistics.
• Use speeds and feeds to maximize tool life and part quality.
• Use macros to set alarms on CNC machines.
• Follow and improve established practices.
• Evaluate experimental procedures for efficiency.
• Adhere to safety, maintenance, and cleanliness guidelines.
• Perform routine machine repairs and maintenance.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks.
