Job summary

Simtra BioPharma Solutions in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Senior Machinist to join a high-performing manufacturing support team. You will maintain and improve production equipment, set up and program CNC lathes and mills, troubleshoot tooling, and help drive continuous improvement in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, inspecting parts with CMM, documenting processes, and ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; five years machining experience preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills.
• Strong knowledge of machining practices and tolerances.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, organized machine shop environment.
• Manage project activities including cost tracking, material procurement, consumable inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
• Repair and refurbish manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment as required.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and grinders.
• Inspect and verify finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to drawings and quality standards.
• Utilize CMM equipment to inspect, measure, and reverse-engineer components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
• Support continuous improvement efforts.
