Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a CNC Machinist I to operate CNC lathe equipment, load and cycle parts, and perform setup, machining, cleaning, and inspection of parts to meet dimensional specifications. You will report to the Manufacturing Specialist.

You will run production lots, detect malfunctions, document results, and maintain paperwork. The role requires hands-on shop experience, a formal apprenticeship, and strong math skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience required.
• Requires machine shop experience and knowledge of engineering math through a formal apprenticeship program.
• Able to read blueprints and inspect parts to verify dimensional specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment to fabricate parts.
• Load parts in machines, cycle machines, and detect malfunctions in operations.
• Run production lots and monitor performance.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
• Perform inspection of machined products and document results.
• Maintain appropriate paperwork for various parts.
