Job summary

UMC in Monticello, MN is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to operate, set up, and inspect high-precision parts. You will support production, uphold safety standards, and mentor apprentices while leveraging Vericut simulations and GD&T expertise.

Requires 5+ years as a machinist (10+ preferred), an associate degree in machining or related field, and experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and MAPPS controls. On-site role with generous PTO and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Machining or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a machinist; 10+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines for all jobs, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-machine simulations with Vericut to verify toolpaths before machining.
• Complete first-piece buy-offs to verify dimensions against prints and inspection plans.
• Troubleshoot machine issues with Engineering and Programming as needed.
• Lead and mentor Apprentices and junior machinists, sharing knowledge.
• Conduct in-process inspections and correlate CMM data with SPC techniques.
