Job summary

UMC in Monticello, MN is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to operate, setup, and inspect complex parts with precision and adherence to safety. You will support production goals while mentoring Apprentices and Junior Machinists.

Responsibilities include running machines, performing first-piece inspections, using Vericut simulations, and collaborating with Engineering on process improvements to maintain high quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Machining or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years as a machinist; 10+ years preferred.
• Proficient GD&T and CNC programming concepts.
• Experience with CNC machines and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines for all jobs with quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-machine simulations using Vericut to mitigate errors.
• Meet production targets while controlling scrap and throughput.
• First-piece verification against prints and inspection plans.
• Mentor Apprentices and junior machinists and assist with training.
