Job summary

Kintara in Northeast Ohio is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to independently manage setups, fixtures, FAI, and in-process inspections on tight-tolerance aerospace/defense components. This senior role demands ownership of the full manufacturing process and mentoring of peers on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in precision CNC machining, multi-axis experience, GD&T mastery, and CAM familiarity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision environment.
• Experience with multi-axis turning and milling (4- to 5-axis).
• Strong GD&T interpretation and first article inspection experience.
• Proficiency with CMMs, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and surface plates.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC turning and milling centers.
• Manage tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and process adjustments for tight tolerance production.
• Design, build, and validate fixtures and workholding for complex components.
• Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) and document results.
• Perform in-process dimensional verification using CMMs and precision tools.
• Troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, and dimensional variation.
• Interpret complex GD&T requirements and customer specifications.
• Maintain setup sheets and production records.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Mentor less experienced machinists on the shop floor.
