Job summary

Patriot Machine, Inc. in St. Charles, Missouri, is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC milling machines and machine centers.

You will interpret blueprints, prepare tooling, and ensure parts meet print specifications on complex aerospace-grade components. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of CNC machining experience, strong knowledge of machine tool capabilities, and the ability to read technical data accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.
• Vocational training in machine tool technology or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets prints to determine tooling requirements, set up procedures and machining methods.
• Secures and aligns tooling, attachments, and work piece on the machine.
• Verifies and installs cutting tools and inspects tooling for proper condition.
• Downloads NC program.
• Sets machine controls to position spindle and regulate cutting speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Communicates with supervisor to resolve program or machining problems.
• Operates machines to the highest level of efficiency.
• Changes cutting tools and sets up according to machining sequence and measures parts for conformance to print specifications.
• Inspects and measures parts for conformance to specifications.
• Performs preventive maintenance as required.

Sets up and operates CNC milling machines and machine centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring of metals. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, blueprint reading, and industrial math.
Responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets prints, travelers, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
• Secures and aligns tooling, attachments, and work piece on the machine

• Sets machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
• Communicates with supervisor or programming associates to resolve program or machining problems

• Changes cutting tools as needed and sets up according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to print specifications, using precision measuring instruments
• Inspects and measures parts for conformance to specifications
• Performs preventive maintenance as required
