Job summary

AMS in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist & Programmer to craft and optimize components for aerospace and industrial applications. You will develop CNC programs, set up machines, and run jobs using Mastercam to ensure precision and quality.

The role requires interpreting CAD models, blueprints, and specifications, selecting tooling, validating processes with first-article inspections, and collaborating with quality and production teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC machinist and programmer, ideally within the aerospace or industrial manufacturing sector.
• Strong capability in programming and operating CNC machines, including 3-axis programming and using MasterCAM software.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D and 3D blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with operating CNC machinery and handling tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work within designated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret job orders, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Calculate optimal material cutting paths and establish the sequence of machining operations.
• Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to maximize production efficiency.
• Develop and generate CNC program code using CAM software, ensuring alignment with design and operational requirements.
• Perform simulations and tests to validate machining processes and adjust parameters as needed.
• Conduct thorough quality control tests and inspections, including first-article inspections and final reviews before shipment.
• Maintain and update quality documentation related to production and shipments.
• Collaborate with management, quality control, and production teams to enhance machining processes and outputs.
• Ensure all completed parts meet quality standards and specifications, preparing detailed reports for management and quality consultants as required.
