Job summary

Lagun Engineering is seeking a Senior CNC Field Service Technician to lead and own large CNC machine tool installations at customer sites in Harbor City, CA. You’ll commission, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex systems, working both on-site and in-house to ensure performance aligns with specifications.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience independently installing and commissioning large CNC machine tools.
• Experience with CNC machining centers, mills or lathes and controls such as Fanuc, Heidenhain, Fagor, Siemens or similar.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including alignment, bearings, ball screws, spindles and lubrication systems.
• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience, including systems up to 480V.
• Experience with precision measurement and machine calibration using indicators, levels, lasers or similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, servos and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-day installations and commissioning of large CNC mills, lathes and machining centers.
• Coordinate machine positioning and rigging, then complete leveling, alignment, geometry checks and calibration.
• Configure and troubleshoot CNC controls, servo systems, spindles and related machine components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems.
• Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Test machines for accuracy and performance before customer acceptance.
• Train customers on safe machine operation and basic maintenance.
• Document service work, repairs, parts and recommendations.
• Travel to customer facilities, sometimes for a full week, and provide professional onsite support.

Senior CNC Field Service Technician (Machine Tool Installation)

Location: Harbor City, CA

Travel: Up to 50%, including week-long customer-site installations

Compensation: $100,000–$130,000 annually

Lagun Engineering is hiring an experienced CNC Field Service Technician to install, commission, maintain and repair large CNC machine tools. You'll lead complex installations at customer facilities and support machines in-house in Harbor City.

This isn't an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who can independently own an installation after learning Lagun-specific products and processes.

What you'll do:

• Lead multi-day installations and commissioning of large CNC mills, lathes and machining centers.
