Job summary

DN Solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer specializing in SMX and DNX mill-turn lines. This hands-on role combines CNC programming, machine setup, process development, and technical sales support.

You will lead turnkey projects from initial part review through proof-out at our Chicago Technical Center and customer sites. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CNC machining or applications with strong CAD/CAM experience, ability to read G-code, and excellent communication skills to collaborate

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience required.
5+ years CNC machining or applications experience with mill-turn or multitasking machines.
Strong ability to set up, program, and prove out complex parts independently.
Experience with multi-axis machining and part transfer.

Responsibilities

Develop CNC programs and complete machining processes for SMX and DNX machines.
Lead turnkey projects from initial part review to tool selection and prove-out.
Set up machines, validate part quality, cycle times, and production readiness.
Plan machining sequences for main/subspindles, B-axis, lower turret, and transfer.
Select tooling, workholding, probing, and in-process measurement strategies.
Conduct customer test cuts, time studies, and pre-sale evaluations.
Troubleshoot programming, postprocessor, and machine issues with teams.
Support distributors and customers with applications training and production startup.
