Job summary

DIHO Consulting USA seeks a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician in Odessa, TX. This role performs field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring to ensure project-spec compliance. Training will be provided and certification opportunities may arise.

Preferred candidates have ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications, with the ability to pass drug and background checks. A valid TWIC is a plus; on-site travel and on-call hours are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction or construction materials testing.
• Ability to perform field testing and document results accurately.
• Must have dependable transportation; truck use is encouraged where possible.
• Ability to pass a DISA drug screen and a background check.
• TWIC card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests including soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring.
• Conduct concrete slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and cylinder casting tests.
• Perform soil compaction tests using sand cone or nuclear density gauge.
• Run Proctor and Atterberg limits tests and sieve analyses.
• Perform asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling.
• Monitor pile installation, document capacity and blow counts.
• Produce timely and detailed field and test reports.
• Follow company safety procedures and site protocols.
• Communicate with dispatch and clients daily; relay information to management.

Job description

DIHO Consulting USA is seeking applicants for the Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician role in Odessa, TX. Do you have construction experience? Then join us and become a CMT Technician! Training will be provided, and you can get certified!

This role involves performing field testing of construction materials—including soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring—to ensure compliance with project specifications. Candidates with ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform field tests such as:
• Concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and casting cylinders for compressive strength)
• Soil compaction testing using sand cone or nuclear density gauge
• Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and other soil classification tests (as applicable)
• Asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling
• Pile monitoring during installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts
• Produce timely and detailed reports
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner and follow our corporate safety procedures at all time
• Follow all company's procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
• Build positive relationships with clients
• Arrive at the job site to which you are dispatched, on time each day
• Communicate with dispatch on a daily basis
• Communicate with onsite clients each day and relay any information to management

REQUIREMENTS

• +3 year of experience in Construction or Construction Materials Testing.
• Must have dependable transportation, a truck is preferable as there is an incentive program to use it for work
• Must be able to pass a DISA drug screen
• Must be able to pass a background check
• TWIC card (preferred)
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment
• Capable of maintaining an "On Call" type schedule and must be willing to work obscure hours
