Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician/Inspector in Tucson.

The role focuses on field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt on construction projects, with emphasis on accurate documentation and QA/QC support. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in construction materials testing, knowledge of standard test methods, and valid certifications (ACI Grade I, ATTI, ADOT training preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction materials testing, quality control inspection, or a related field.
• Knowledge of standard test methods for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections on construction sites and document observations.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, and supporting project documentation.
• Maintain field and laboratory records and ensure data is complete and organized.
• Communicate test results and observations to project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards while working in the field.
• Assist with additional testing, inspection, and project-related duties as assigned.
