Job summary

KLA Industries in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Inspector to strengthen our inspection department. You will independently program and operate CMM equipment, resolve measurement discrepancies, and help implement a new ZEISS CMM system.

Responsibilities include creating inspection programs, interpreting GD&T, and mentoring junior inspectors to maintain high-quality standards across all manufactured components.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read drawings and GD&T to verify conformance.
• Experience with first article, in-process, and final inspections.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CMM inspection programs for precision components.
• Set up and operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer quality requirements.
• Develop inspection strategies, setups, and measurement routines.
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Investigate measurement discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Ensure methods are accurate, repeatable, and documented.
• Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate findings to production and leadership.
• Assist in selecting and launching a new ZEISS CMM system.
• Establish CMM programming standards, calibration, and procedures.
• Recommend additional inspection equipment, software, and tooling.
• Collaborate with machinists and shop leadership to resolve quality issues.
• Train inspection personnel as the department grows.
