Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer to bridge clinical practice and health information technology across the enterprise, including the Charleston academic medical center and regional hospitals. The CMIO leads physician informatics, oversees Epic and clinical technology strategy, and drives AI-enabled and ambient solutions to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.

Reporting to the CIO, Information Solutions, the CMIO partners with medical staff, College of Medicine

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active South Carolina medical licensure or eligibility.
• Minimum 10 years in frontline clinical practice and informatics leadership.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide clinical informatics initiatives in a complex health system.

Responsibilities

• Lead physician informatics across the enterprise, including IT strategy and change management.
• Oversee Epic and clinical technology strategy, CDS, order sets, and workflows.
• Partner with Telehealth, AI, and academic leadership to drive adoption of AI-enabled tools.
• Collaborate with CIO, medical staff, and College of Medicine to align investments with goals.
