Job summary

NASCO is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to own the day-to-day AWS operations, ensuring reliability, observability, and disaster readiness. You will partner with security, development, and MSP teams to keep production healthy and scalable while driving automation.

You will implement monitoring, respond to incidents, optimize costs, and develop runbooks. The role requires hands-on AWS experience, IaC, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, SRE, or related field.
• 5 years hands-on experience deploying, operating, supporting, and troubleshooting production workloads in AWS.
• 3 years of experience using infrastructure as code and scripting to automate operational work.
• Demonstrated experience supporting production services, leading incident resolution, root-cause analyses, and improving operational reliability.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• AWS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns day-to-day operational health, reliability, availability, and supportability of AWS cloud environments.
• Implements monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and observability practices for proactive issue detection.
• Leads incident response, service restoration, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Automates provisioning, configuration, remediation, deployment using infrastructure as code and scripting.
• Analyzes and improves cloud performance, capacity, scalability, and resource utilization.
• Identifies and executes cloud cost-optimization opportunities in partnership with stakeholders.
• Maintains backup, recovery, resilience, and disaster-recovery procedures with tested readiness.
• Oversees the CloudOps MSP, validates work quality, tracks commitments, and closes gaps.
• Develops runbooks, procedures, documentation, and knowledge articles.
• Supports production changes and improves controls, tooling, and processes.
• Evaluates emerging capabilities, including AI-assisted tools, for reliability improvements.
