You will design and maintain scalable traffic infrastructure, work on edge deployments, and own critical reliability issues with advanced tooling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor ICs, and drive resiliency improvements while upholding strict privacy and security requirements, contributing to best-in-class service for Apple Pay

Formación

• 6+ years of cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with load balancing and proxies (Nginx, Envoy, Squid).
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent (10 years) preferred.

Description

As the demand for our services continues to grow rapidly we are forming a team to best position ourselves to deliver a service to the highest level, as expected at Apple. We handle both customer facing (external) and internal traffic which have strict privacy and security requirements. This is a team of software/systems/network engineers directly responsible for both customer facing (external) and internal traffic globally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest level of up-time and quality of service to Apple’s customers through operational quality.
• Design, maintain, and improve global production traffic infrastructure.
• Ownership of reliability issues using a wide variety of tools.
• Identify areas to improve service resiliency through techniques such as chaos engineering, performance / load testing, and game days.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience with load balancing (Nginx, Envoy and Envoy Gateway), proxies (Squid) and edge deployments.
• 6+ years cloud engineering
• Familiarity with Networking, Security, Logging, and Application Monitoring
• Maintaining customer commitments
• Navigating the complexities of the business and service reliability
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to coach & mentor other ICs
• Bachelors Degree in computer science, related field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Developing in Go, Python, or similar programming languages.
