Job summary

Hyperfine, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks for cloud-based and device software.

Hybrid role (3 days/week) with cross-functional collaboration across development, QA, and DevOps to enable compliant, high-quality releases. The ideal candidate has strong Python and Bash skills, experience with PyTest or Selenium/Playwright, and hands-on AWS, Docker, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in software industry.
• 3+ years in test automation, software quality, or development roles.
• 3+ years with AWS ecosystem (e.g., ECS, EKS, S3, EC2, IAM).
• Proficiency in Python and Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and Terraform.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• CI/CD pipelines with integrated automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for cloud and device software.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback and quality.
• Define and improve test strategies, coverage, and quality metrics across cloud and device platforms.
• Collaborate with software engineers to identify test gaps and improve testability.
• Execute and automate functional, integration, regression, and system tests.
• Troubleshoot test failures and perform root-cause analysis across test and production environments.
• Support cloud environments and pipelines, including basic AWS operations.
• Ensure testing processes meet medical device and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST, GDPR).
• Contribute to test plans, validation documentation, and change management artifacts.
