Position Overview

WhirlWind Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Sr. Cloud Systems Engineer who shall provide design, development, configuration, security, system analysis, and modernization of Identity Management & Domain Services (IMDS) critical services that enable the Census Bureau network to function.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Designs and implements enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing.
  • Analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will be securely integrated with current applications.
  • Has a deep understanding of system development in cloud environments, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Education

  • Minimum BS/BA degree in related field (or equivalent certification, or years of experience)
  • At least one or more current certification from the list below:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
    • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of Cloud proficiency experience
  • Modernization efforts through Cloud integration
  • Configure and manage IMDS CI/CD DevOps Pipelines
  • Serves as the technical lead on special projects
  • Collaborates with other OCIO teams on key initiatives
