Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior System Administrator to perform high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex OS and server hardware. This 100% remote role supports the VA team and emphasizes standard procedures and data integrity.

The candidate will lead complex software installations, monitor performance, and implement backups while collaborating with network and systems analysts to determine scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of system administration experience with cloud infrastructure.
• Advanced AWS certifications preferred (SysOps, Solutions Architect, or DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedule installations and upgrades following IT procedures.
• Continuously monitor and tune multiple systems for optimum performance.
• Ensure data/media recoverability with regular backups and archive operations.
• Plan and implement server modernization and standard operating procedures.
