Ladders is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator for a remote role supporting a leader in Aerospace & Defense. The role focuses on AWS-based environments, ensuring availability, scalability, patching, and reliable day-to-day operations for mission-critical systems.

You will partner with development teams and vendors to improve deployment processes, build CI/CD pipelines, perform maintenance, and keep infrastructure performing at a high standard.

Qualifications

• CBP suitability and/or TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of Linux-based system administration.
• 3+ years of cloud-based systems administration.
• Experience with Agile development teams.
• Experience provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures.
• Experience with PKI/IPSec/VPN security.

Responsibilities

• Deploy highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure focused on AWS
• Administer the AWS platform with strong understanding and skills
• Collaborate with the Development team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Perform system maintenance, including patching, updates, and backups
• Install and maintain system applications, ensuring they are up to date
• Troubleshoot and remediate system and application issues
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support and upgrades

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

In this remote role, you will help build, administer, and secure cloud infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations. The position centers on AWS-based environments, with a strong emphasis on availability, scalability, patching, and reliable day-to-day systems support. You will also partner closely with development teams and vendors to improve deployment processes, resolve technical issues, and keep infrastructure performing at a high standard.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $109,000 – $159,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Deploy highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure focused on AWS
• Administer the AWS platform with strong understanding and skills
• Collaborate with the Development team to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Perform system maintenance, including patching, updates, and backups
• Install and maintain system applications, ensuring they are up to date

• Pre-existing CBP suitability and/or TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

• 3 years of experience in cloud-based systems administration
• Experience working on Agile Development teams
• Experience in provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures
• Experience developing and managing secure networks for PKI, IPSEC, or VPN environments
