Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator Senior to advance enterprise IT in a hybrid Washington, DC environment. You will manage Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud, handle configuration, patches, and security, and administer accounts for cleared personnel.

You will apply DISA STIGs, automate with Ansible/PowerShell, and monitor systems via Azure Monitor. A Secret+ clearance is required to support DoD 8570.01M IAT II duties.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Technical training, certifications, or degree accepted as alternative.
• 5+ years of database and data management experience preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud.
• Handle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting for high availability and security.
• Administer user and service accounts for cleared personnel.
• Manage access permissions using least privilege principles.
• Integrate systems with Azure AD or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and MFA.
• Perform regular system updates and security patches.
• Apply DISA STIGs or hardening guidelines to servers.
• Use Ansible or PowerShell to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Monitor performance via Azure Monitor and custom scripts.
• Respond to alerts and conduct root-cause analysis for downtime.
• Maintain data backups and disaster recovery testing.

• MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud
• Handle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and security of all VMs and services
• Administer user and service accounts for cleared personnel
• Manage access permissions according to the least privilege principles
• Integrate systems with Azure Active Directory or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and multi-factor authentication
• Perform regular system updates and security patches
• Validate that all system changes meet compliance requirements (applying DISA STIGs or hardening guidelines to each server)
• Utilize automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell scripts to streamline repetitive admin tasks (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations)
• Monitor system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage and event logs via Azure Monitor or custom scripts
• Respond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradation
• Maintain data backups and recovery procedures for critical systems
• Periodically test restore processes to ensure COOP and disaster recovery objectives can be met
• Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products
• Address all vulnerabilities identified via system scanning

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education:Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred
• Experience:5+ years of preferred experience in database and data management
• 10+ years of related experience preferred, with at least
• Required Skills:Senior Level system administrator skills required in Linux/Windows environments
• Advanced knowledge using Ansible or PowerShell scripts
• Extensive experience in database architecture, design, and processing models.
• Extensive experience with data architecture, modeling, and management in a broad spectrum of data repository environments, such as data warehouse, on-line transaction processing and hybrid
• Knowledge and experience working with data migration from different database systems to updated modern systems
• Current and practical experience using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL
• Developer, MSSQL
• Strong HTML, CSS, AJAX, and JSON experience
• RDBMS modeling, Data Integrity, SQL Developer/TOAD
• PowerShell Scripting
• Required Certification(s):CompTIA Security+ required to satisfy DoD 8570.01M requirements for IAT Level II
• Other work-dependent certifications a plus
• Preferred Skills:Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud services and database management in cloud environments
• Familiarity with Cloud based Database systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience working in Federal or State government environments
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must possess active Secret or higher clearance and maintain as a condition of employment
