Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to drive client-facing cloud initiatives and strategy. You will partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities, define solution roadmaps, and deliver scalable architectures across cloud and enterprise platforms.

As a senior technologist, you will guide engagements from discovery to deployment, collaborate with the Cloud Center of Excellence, and ensure solutions align with business objectives, security, and cost considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience.
• Experience in solution architecture, consulting, or customer-facing technology roles.
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Advanced understanding of Azure services, cloud solution architecture, identity, networking, and security.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts (DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, VPNs, hybrid networking).
• Experience designing solutions with relational and non-relational databases, data integrations, and application data architectures.
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems and enterprise workloads.
• Experience designing and integrating enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, APIs, and business systems.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading teams without direct authority and mentoring others.
• Cost, licensing, security considerations, and long-term supportability knowledge.
• Ability to drive organizational adoption of architecture standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement activities, including solution discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into practical, scalable, and supportable technology solutions.
• Drive solution lifecycle from concept through deployment and operational transition.
• Develop roadmaps and delivery plans for cloud, applications, and technology initiatives.
• Collaborate with vendors, delivery teams, and Cloud Center of Excellence to ensure standards.
• Provide technical leadership to architects, engineers, and delivery teams.
• Evaluate options and recommend cost-effective, high-value solutions.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes.
• Support portfolio planning and prioritization to align with business priorities.
