Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead cloud migration efforts and design hybrid architectures across Oracle Cloud and Microsoft Azure. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong governance, and collaboration with domain SMEs to ensure secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with software or service engineering and delivery.
• Experience applying existing, new and emerging technologies for strategic use.
• Experience researching and evaluating multiple approaches to solving technical problems.
• Experience designing, developing and integrating applications with software architecture principles.
• Experience architecting enterprise solutions across multi-cloud and hybrid environments including Oracle and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on design, building, testing and deployment of technology solutions for the domain.
• Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand drivers and determine solution designs.
• Enable domain leadership to make decisions by evaluating technology options and articulating tradeoffs.
• Create and enforce enterprise architecture standards and ensure compliance of solutions.
• Participate in cross-team Agile ceremonies and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical solution architectures for strategic initiatives.”
• Apply cybersecurity, technology and risk principles to ensure compliant solutions.
• Research emerging domain technologies and publish findings for use by tech teams.
• Align governance to architecture standards and elevate issues as needed.
• Mentor less experienced architects and resolve cross-project technical issues.
• Hands-on cloud migration leadership across design, build, migrate and operation readiness.
• Experience enabling Azure-based solutions including landing zones, IaC, Azure SQL migrations, APIM, Functions and Entra ID integration.
• Designing and governing hybrid architectures spanning Oracle Cloud, Azure, enterprise SaaS and on-prem environments.
