Job summary

Amazon WorkSpaces Applications team in Seattle, WA is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate scalable workspace infrastructure and services for millions of users on AWS.

You will own features, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive code quality and performance improvements in a fast-paced cloud environment. Requires 3+ years of software development, design/architecture, and OO design experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy software features for Workspace Applications infrastructure and services.
• Build scalable systems that manage resource provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Own operational excellence for your components, including monitoring, alarming, and on-call support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, science, and product management.
• Continuously improve code quality, system performance, and development processes.
• Write clean, maintainable code that scales to handle large-scale workloads.
