Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Sr IT Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure IT infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. You will lead and mentor junior system administrators while guiding projects using established PM methodologies.

Responsibilities include managing AWS or Azure workloads, developing automation scripts, optimizing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years related experience
• Advanced knowledge of systems administration and 3+ years cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure)
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure infrastructure
• Experience with advanced security technologies
• Knowledge of IT project management methodologies
• Ability to lead and mentor junior system administrators
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write proposals/papers, act as vendor liaison, and present to customers or peers
• Ability to automate processes
• Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing concepts and filesystem concepts
• Performance analysis and tuning
