Job summary

WGU is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to lead IAM design and implementation across AWS-based systems. You will architect secure cloud environments and define authentication standards such as MFA, OAuth2/OIDC, and SAML.

The role requires 7+ years in information security and cloud engineering, with strong Linux and scripting skills, and will involve mentoring engineers and driving CI/CD automation. This is an in-office Salt Lake City role with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience in information security and cloud engineering.
• 3+ years of AWS cloud services experience and CISSP or equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of IAM solutions across cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
• Architect, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS environments supporting critical business systems.
• Define and implement authentication standards including MFA, OAuth2/OIDC, and SAML.
• Design and maintain infrastructure for servers, storage, networking, and security systems.
• Drive automation initiatives for cloud platforms, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Mentor Cloud Engineers while contributing to documentation, standards, and best practices.
