Job summary

CSG, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer in Linthicum, MD to advance our Security in the Cloud initiatives.

The role focuses on developing AWS service-specific guidance for handling Sensitive Data and USD, while ensuring RMF-aligned cloud transitions. You will collaborate with teams to implement controls and support government-related projects. The ideal candidate brings strong cloud security experience, RMF knowledge, and excellent analytical and communication skills to improve risk

Qualifications

• Experience with Security in the Cloud, particularly AWS.
• Strong understanding of RMF and its application to cloud transitions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with secure data handling and classification.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
• Ability to work with government or research environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document AWS service-specific guidance for managing Sensitive Data (SD) and Ultra-Sensitive Data (USD).
• Review and interpret RMF guidelines for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Analyze on-premises security processes and translate to cloud security best practices aligned with RMF.
• Provide recommendations to government stakeholders on transitioning solutions to cloud while ensuring policy compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and secure cloud deployments.
• Assist in security assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives for cloud environments.
• Keep abreast of evolving cloud security standards, AWS services, and relevant certifications.
