Job summary

the company in the United States is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer II to join the Security Engineering function as a senior IC and technical leader for cloud security. This role defines standards, guides engineers, and leads security initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.

You will own threat modeling, secure-by-default architectures, IAM security strategy, and incident response, while mentoring peers to raise the bar for cloud security practices across Engineering.

Qualifications

• Several years owning cloud security in production — on‑call for it, not adjacent to it.
• AWS as primary cloud, working GCP, self-managed Kubernetes.
• You read and write code (Python, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Define the cloud security standards, guardrails, and reference architectures that Infra, SRE, and Product Engineering build on.
• Set objectives and roadmap for high-impact cloud security work, in partnership with Security Engineering leadership.
• Lead cross-functional security initiatives end to end — scope, timeline, stakeholders, and delivery.
• Mentor and uplevel other security and platform engineers through pairing, design review, and feedback.
• Represent cloud security in architecture and design forums, translating complex attack paths into actionable guidance.
