Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Security Engineer 4 to lead design and delivery of security platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will architect IAM, endpoint and data protection, and drive automation for vulnerability management and compliance.

You will serve as a technical advisor during incidents and work with software, cloud and infra teams to embed security by design. Strong IaC, Terraform and CI/CD experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity or IT security.
• 3+ years in a cloud-based environment.
• 2+ years designing automated security solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of platforms and automated controls in cloud and on-prem.
• Architect and implement IAM, endpoint, network and data protection systems.
• Develop automation for vulnerability management, detection and compliance.
• Advise on incident response and forensics investigations.
• Embed security by design with software, cloud and infra teams.
• Evaluate new security tech for interoperability and scalability.
• Codify engineering standards and reusable security modules.
• Support ongoing security tooling, investigations and break/fix tasks.
