Job summary

Dark Wolf in the Washington DC metro area is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, Cloud Automation & Security Controls to assess and validate cybersecurity configurations across complex cloud-based systems. This role is onsite at customer locations with responsibilities spanning technical evaluations of cloud architectures and policy effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity with focus on control assessment, pen testing, or QA testing.
• Active IAT Level 2 certification.
• Experience evaluating information systems design, containerized apps, and cloud architecture.
• Ability to communicate complex tech topics clearly, with strong written skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop remediation recommendations to improve client cybersecurity processes and configurations.
• Conduct technical evaluations of information systems design, containerized applications, and cloud architecture.
• Validate effectiveness of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Develop automated methods to monitor and measure risk and security compliance.
• Use automated cloud security posture tools to monitor AWS for configuration drift and ensure CSP/ guidance adherence.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to ingest IaC (e.g., Terraform) and system docs to identify cybersecurity gaps.
• Draft/brief statements of prelim or residual cybersecurity risks for operation.
• Assess design/effectiveness of existing security controls and document additional controls with teams.
