Job summary

van den Boom & Associates LLC seeks a Senior Systems Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead design and delivery of Microsoft-centric, security-hardened environments for life sciences clients. You will blend hands-on engineering with client-facing solution design and mentor junior staff.

The role requires deep Azure/M365 expertise, strong security background, and a passion for automation and AI tooling to reduce manual work and improve client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Scaled MSP experience with multiple clients/environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration & architecture.
• Strong security background: IAM, endpoint security, conditional access, security best practices.
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell.
• Experience or strong interest in automation and AI agents (Claude).
• Proven escalation point for a service desk or support team; able to design solutions and document them.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for the service desk, resolving complex issues across infrastructure, cloud, and security.
• Design end-to-end solutions for Microsoft 365, Azure, identity/security, networking, and endpoint management.
• Architect and administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments and implement security controls.
• Build automation and AI tooling to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and remediation.
• Participate in onboarding and migrations to the managed environment; maintain architecture standards.
