Job summary

Abnormal AI seeks a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design scalable security capabilities in AWS, guiding AI-generated infrastructure while steering architecture decisions.

As a technical lead, you will own threat modeling, IaC security via Terraform/CloudFormation, and cross-team reviews, mentoring engineers and shaping reusable playbooks. This role emphasizes hands-on incident work and security-focused CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery in security engineering or infrastructure security roles.
• Deep comprehension of native AWS architecture services and identity/access patterns.
• Strong scripting and dev fundamentals in Python and/or Go.
• Demonstrated fluency directing AI coding/agent tools to accelerate delivery.
• Expertise in integrating or building tooling for SIEM, SOAR, CSPM platforms.
• Experience deploying security controls via Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Comfortable investigating logs, tracing events, and contributing to incident analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modeling and security design discussions with platform and product teams.
• Review security architecture of new product features and assess data exposure and access control.
• Collaborate to build scalable preventative controls in AWS via IaC, with AI-assisted drafting.
• Evaluate and uplift security tooling focusing on scale and precision.
• Mentor engineers on leveraging AI for security tasks and best practices.
• Prototype automation for signal correlation, alert enrichment, and auto-remediation.
• Architect and validate integrations between AWS and other security tooling.
• Hands-on contributor during security incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Create reusable AI-assisted playbooks for IaC security review and detection.
