Job summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced Engineer 4 (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering) to lead a portfolio of cloud-native projects and guide a team of developers. You’ll work across distributed systems, applying Java, Python, Go, and TypeScript while leveraging AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes for scalable solutions.

You will mentor peers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with product managers to deliver resilient, compliant cloud services used by millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with distributed microservices.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge within internal and external communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for users.
• Work with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and AWS tools.
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for design, development, and ops.
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects.
• Identify refactoring opportunities to reduce debt and improve performance.
