UnitedHealth Group Optum Tech seeks a Lead Software Engineer to shape cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, architect scalable backend services, and drive IaC frameworks and governance. You’ll champion DevSecOps, security controls, and AI-assisted automation at scale.

You can work remotely anywhere in the U.S., with in-office four days per week required for roles in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or cloud engineering experience.
• 3+ years building on public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 3+ years Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-cloud infrastructure and governance across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop Terraform templates to automate provisioning and config management.
• Build scalable backend microservices in Java/Go/Python.
• Integrate security controls and compliance into cloud platforms.
• Lead DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor engineers in design reviews and cloud best practices.
