Job summary

IBM Software in Dallas seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and evolve internal infra services using Go and Kubernetes across a global cloud platform. You will own scalable, secure, observable systems and collaborate across teams to enable fast, safe deployments; participate in on-call rotations.

The role requires strong Linux networking knowledge and experience with GitOps, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana in large-scale environments.

Qualifications

Strong programming skills in Go, Java, or Python and understanding of large-scale systems.
Deep understanding of filesystems, memory, networking, and kernel behavior.
Experience with Kubernetes in production and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Expertise in GitOps, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and evolve internal infrastructure services in Go, often as Kubernetes operators.
Own secure, scalable, observable, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with engineers to enable fast, safe deployments.
Take responsibility for availability, performance, monitoring, incidents, and capacity.
Work at scale across many instances and regions.
Influence architecture and operational strategy of core infrastructure.
Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
