Job summary

Fortreum is a trusted leader in cloud and cybersecurity services, delivering independent, third‑party assessments and advisory services to Fortune 500 clients. We are expanding our team with opportunities for experienced penetration testers who can perform testing of cloud services and support FedRAMP compliance in Northern Virginia and beyond.

You will conduct network, application, and cloud penetration tests, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with customers to deliver high‑impact security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or 5+ years of equivalent job experience in penetration testing.
• 4+ years of professional services experience (consulting).
• 5+ years of web application and network penetration testing experience.
• Proficient in scripting languages (bash, python, PowerShell, ruby, etc.).
• Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies and security principles.
• Familiarity with OWASP, OSSTMM, or PTES.

Responsibilities

• Perform penetration testing on networks, applications (APIs, mobile apps, web apps) and systems to identify vulnerabilities.
• Develop and refine penetration testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Advise customers on vulnerabilities, remediation strategies, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare final deliverables within established timelines.
• Lead and coordinate project readiness with internal teams and customers.
• Mentor junior staff and support Red Team operations.
• Pursue certifications (FedRAMP) as required.
