Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join the Network Products team. You will write control plane software, develop APIs, troubleshoot, and help own product offerings end-to-end for developers building in the cloud.

You should have Go experience, design high-performance systems, and be comfortable with cloud-native tooling and CI/CD. This remote role offers competitive compensation and equity with opportunities to impact customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience with Go programming language and unit tests.
• Design and develop high-performance systems.
• Knowledge of networking stack or willingness to learn.
• Experience designing and developing full-stack applications with databases and API.
• Experience leading work across multiple teams to build API contracts.
• Experience with cloud development, containerization and virtualization.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Bonus: experience with gRPC, Temporal and Kafka.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test and optimize services and tools at scale.
• Collaborate with Networking teams to build next-gen products and services.
• Support existing products and contribute solutions to pain points.
• Improve tooling and processes to ship robust, mission-critical components.
• Help establish best practices for development and architecture.
• Apply technologies such as Go, Consul, Kafka, SQL, Chef, Git, Jira, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Docker, DNS and Kubernetes.
