Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Operations Engineer – Cloud Networking to design and advance cloud networking across hybrid and Azure environments. You’ll own complex infrastructure challenges, guide teams on networking, automation, and security, and mentor colleagues to elevate cloud maturity.

The role supports a remote or hybrid setup for a distributed team and aligns with BECU’s people-first culture. You will shape infrastructure standards, drive observability, build automation with Terraform, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience, including Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in two or more disciplines: Cloud Computing, Infrastructure Services, ITIL, DevOps.
• Strong written and verbal communication of complex cloud networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (bi-modal/hybrid) incl. Azure networking like hub/spoke, VPN, ExpressRoute.
• Guide teams on Azure networking, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Define architecture standards for scalable cloud-native networking.
• Lead security-focused engineering with governance and compliance.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Mentor engineers in Azure networking and automation.
