Job summary

Karsun Solutions, LLC is seeking a Chief Solution Architect to drive modernization of legacy systems into cloud-native, microservices-based solutions, leveraging LCAP and AI/ML technologies. You will create end-state architectures, gain consensus across FAA IT leadership and business stakeholders, and lead modernization initiatives from legacy to cloud-native environments.

The role blends strategic vision with hands-on coding, mentoring, and technical demonstrations to accelerate modernization

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 15+ years in software architecture and development with modernization experience.
• 7+ years designing microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems at scale.
• 5+ years cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP) with containers and serverless.
• Strong hands-on coding in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Go.
• Ability to articulate visions, roadmaps, and gain executive buy-in.
• Experience with API design, API management, and service mesh.
• Security-first approach aligned with FISMA/FedRAMP/NIST.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and multi-year modernization roadmap.
• Lead modern cloud-native architectures with microservices and APIs.
• Design, build, and deploy ML models and data pipelines with MLOps.
• Develop low-code and automation-enabled apps with AI.
• Drive cross-functional consensus and lead architecture governance.
• Provide hands-on leadership with proofs-of-concept and demos.
• Champion AI-assisted development tools to improve SDLC productivity.
• Oversee evaluation of frameworks, platforms, gateways, and tooling.
• Design API strategies and integration architectures for FAA IT ecosystem.
• Ensure security architecture with zero-trust, OAuth/OIDC, and compliance.
