Job summary

NetApp, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated software engineer to help develop and operate cloud-scale distributed systems spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, and UX.

This unified role covers design through production, with ownership from conception to production and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of production software experience, strong Go backend skills, Python for automation, and familiarity with React/TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Production Go backend development experience.
• Experience with Python for test automation.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, or C# for UI/workflow work.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Kubernetes, containers, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Security and performance optimization practices.

Responsibilities

• Own features through full software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design, develop, and operate cloud-native services leveraging containers, microservices, distributed systems principles, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements.
• Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization.
• Contribute to the technical growth of the team through knowledge sharing, code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship opportunities.
