Job summary

NetApp is seeking a software engineer for the Azure NetApp Files team to design and own backend microservices and REST APIs used to create, manage, update, and delete service objects across cloud-scale distributed systems.

Candidates should have production experience in Go, C++, or C#, with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD, plus databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB. A strong focus on reliability, security, and scalable design is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years building production software, backend services or cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Go, C++, or C#.
• Proven REST API or service-to-service integration work.
• End-to-end microservices development: design, test, deploy, support.
• Docker and containerized service development including building images.
• Kubernetes-based services or components; not admin-only.
• Database usage in applications, preferably PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Strong CI/CD, observability, and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own production REST APIs and backend services.
• Build end-to-end API functionality: design, tests, deployment, and support.
• Develop cloud-native microservices with containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work across SDLC translating requirements into scalable services.
• Modify Kubernetes-based service components with engineering depth.
• Collaborate with architects, PM, partner teams, and peers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability and performance.
• Apply AI-assisted practices to improve development productivity.
