Job summary

IBM is seeking an Application Developer in McLean, VA to lead modernization projects. You will plan, direct, and coordinate efforts to reshape legacy systems into modern, scalable solutions.

You will work across Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, and JavaScript, designing microservices, containerized deployments, and API-driven integrations with cloud platforms. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Modern programming languages experience with Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, and JavaScript.
• Cloud and containerization with AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud; Docker and Kubernetes.
• Microservices architecture with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
• Legacy code migration to modern platforms; include generative AI capabilities.
• Database design for secure, scalable solutions with testing and performance optimization.
• Must possess and maintain active Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refactor applications using modern languages and frameworks.
• Implement microservices and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Integrate cloud platforms and apply DevOps practices for CI/CD and monitoring.
• Migrate legacy codebases to modern platforms/languages with AI enhancements.
• Design secure, scalable databases and optimize performance across lifecycles.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs/OpenAPI specs for seamless integration.
