Karthik Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to lead hands-on engineering for secure delivery environments tied to FMxC2 / G081 / MAF LOG C2. The role is remote/hybrid eligible with onsite onboarding at Montgomery/Gunter Annex; active Secret clearance is required and the anticipated salary range is $125,000-$135,000 per year.

The Senior Cloud Migration Engineer will lead hands-on engineering of secure delivery and operating environments for FMxC2 / G081 / MAF LOG C2. You will connect application builds, infrastructure changes, security evidence and recoverability. The role supplies technical evidence to the designated RMF/ATO specialists; it is not a substitute for independent authorization-support ownership. This position is contingent based on award, with an anticipated salary range of $125,000-$135,000 based on candidate qualifications and final contract requirements.

• Work Location: Remote/hybrid eligible; Montgomery/Gunter Annex attendance for onboarding, reviews and mission events.

Program Scope and Description

FMxC2 provides Mobility Air Force visibility into aircraft and equipment status, location, availability, flying hours and service life. The scope includes sustainment and Government-directed migration from DISA hosting to an approved cloud, with four distinct environments and zero-data-loss validation.

DISA-to-Government-approved-cloud migration covering four distinct environments, application/database dependencies and authorized cutover. Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and Checkmarx are disclosed. Hosting provider, impact level and target architecture remain Government-directed.

Key Responsibilities

Application-aware platform delivery

• Develop dependency-based designs for four segregated environments; document scalability, availability, recovery and Government-specified impact-level controls.
• Coordinate DISA/application/data migration rehearsals, phased cutover and rollback; provide architecture and pipeline evidence for independent validation and Government acceptance.
• Maintain versioned infrastructure as code, provisioning requests and environment baselines; test changes before promotion and investigate configuration drift.

Security and operational resilience

• Implement assigned identity, least-privilege, encryption, segmentation and STIG controls; monitor logs, performance and security findings with accountable remediation.
• Prepare application recovery runbooks and COOP exercise evidence; coordinate failover/restore dependencies and assigned offline/synchronization support.

Release evidence and technical coordination

• Retain pipeline/test/security-scan and component/SBOM evidence, architecture changes and control inputs; coordinate rather than grant ATO or production acceptance.
• Mentor engineers, resolve application/database dependencies and lead assigned deployment, rollback or critical-incident recovery activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software/systems engineering or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered only where permitted by the applicable contract labor category.

Professional Certifications

• Role-relevant Azure/AWS, Red Hat/OpenShift or DevSecOps credentials are preferred. Personnel must meet the approved cyber-workforce and privileged-access qualifications before independent duty. A named certification is mandatory only when the approved mapping requires it.

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering of controlled application migrations and AWS or Azure infrastructure/pipeline automation.
• Experience maintaining infrastructure as code, source-controlled configurations, deployment automation and operational monitoring.
• Ability to diagnose an environment or pipeline failure and produce a tested rollback/recovery path.
• Demonstrated technical leadership of production platform changes, with independent review and Government approval gates.
• Possess or obtain and maintain Secret clearance before Government system or facility access, and complete required investigation, CAC, access and security training.

Preferred Qualifications

• FMxC2/G081, DISA coordination, Azure DevOps/Bitbucket/Checkmarx or Cloud One migration experience.
• Experience with approved scanning, STIG evidence, RMF technical inputs and repeatable COOP exercises.
