Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our Kubernetes-based infrastructure and AWS cloud platform. You’ll split time between hands-on operational ownership and building automation tooling to reduce toil, while partnering with engineering teams to scale systems securely.

You will design, deploy, and operate scalable systems, mentor colleagues, and drive reliability and developer experience improvements in a global context.

Qualifications

• Track record owning complex infra initiatives end-to-end.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud, networking, IAM, and cost management.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred).
• Solid software engineering skills (Go, Python) for internal tooling.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and related tools (GitHub Actions) and related tech.
• SRE basics: incident response, fault tolerance, capacity planning.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring and training.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own complex infrastructure initiatives end-to-end across Kubernetes and cloud infra.
• Break work into executable tasks with estimates and documentation.
• Design, deploy, operate secure, scalable AWS-based systems; coordinate cross-team support.
• Plan and drive compute and cloud platform improvements using metrics.
• Build self-service tooling and IaC frameworks for safe provisioning.
• Support teams via code/design reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Lead on-call rotations, drive RCAs, and incident mitigation.
• Drive reliability, runbooks, dashboards, and developer experience improvements.
• Participate in hiring and mentoring across teams.
• Collaborate with platform teams across Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash to align standards.
