Job summary

Ford seeks a Senior Software Engineer to architect and deliver cloud-native microservices for our vehicle integration platform. You will craft scalable Spring Boot APIs on GCP, advocate best practices, and ensure reliability with observability and performance tuning.

You'll work with product managers, implement TDD/CI/CD, and use Tekton, SonarQube, and other DevOps tools to ship high-quality software. This role requires a strong background in microservices and CIAM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years with GCP, Cloud Run, Spring Boot, and Java.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and XP) as an Anchor/Team lead.
• Experience launching large-scale global APIs on Azure and GCP.
• Strong understanding of microservices for resiliency and performance.
• Strong understanding of Identity Products (IDP) like IBM Security Verify and Azure AD B2C.
• Agile software practices - TDD, CI/CD, Refactoring, Clean Code, Pairing/Mobbing.
• Developing/publishing APIs with Swagger docs in Apigee and APIM.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, CheckMarx and GitHub.
• Expert level software craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of scalable microservices architectures and desktop applications for the vehicle integration platform.
• Develop Spring Boot/Java API/microservices on GCP using Cloud Run, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Pub/Sub, and more.
• Champion engineering best practices, code reviews, and reusable components.
• Drive CIAM-related work.
• Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting (SLOs/SLIs) for reliability.
• Lead performance engineering, bottleneck analysis, and capacity planning.
• Deliver software with TDD, CI/CD, and frequent releases.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate ideas into incremental production-ready user stories.
• Execute API Load and Performance testing on APIs/modules.
• Use DevOps tools like Tekton, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Fossa, and GitHub for deployment and management.
